TIBET: A BUDDHIST TRILOGY Send This Review to a Friend
Director Graham Coleman leads viewers into the world of Buddhism that is rich in locales, rituals and philosophical attitudes and concepts. It is not a world for which I have a special affinity, but there is no denying the film’s ability to capture essential aspects of its subject.
In Part I, Coleman visits the Dalai Lama’s residence in Dharmasala, India, and a re-built renowned monastery. Part II examines the pattern of monastic life, and Part III logically follows with further spiritual examination.
The film, although relentlessly slow, captures exterior beauty as well as interior dedication, and it makes an educational contribution to appreciating and understanding Buddhism. It is for those who have the interest and patience to be carried along into this rarified world. A Truly Indie release.
