THE PRICE OF MILK Send This Review to a Friend
Milk that travels too far too long sours. "The Price of Milk," imported from New Zealand, may have seemed fresh at home, but the taste over here is awful. Calling this painfully boring, dopey story a fairy tale doesn't help.
The title stems from the film's location on a dairy farm--once upon a time, as fairy tales go. The story involves two lovers Rob (Karl Urban) and Lucinda (Danielle Cormack), whose 117 cows are bartered by Lucinda for complicated reasons not worth explaining in detail. Suffice it to say that the cow departure has to do with Lucinda's misguided plan to test Rob's love and the scheme to steal Rob by Lucinda's best friend Drosophilia (Willa O'Neill).
The plot, fueled by magical happenings, grows increasingly silly and exasperating. The hodgepodge was written and directed by Harry Sinclair. There have been good films out of New Zealand. This isn't one of them. A Lot 47 Films release.
