TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2010--CELEBRITY HEAVEN  Send This Review to a Friend

Whenever I think back to the early days when it was the Toronto Festival of Festivals, and remember how hard it was for the Festival honchos to line up celebrities, I find it gratifyingly amazing to see how the situation has changed. Now the event is celebrity heaven, with an enormous contingent of movie stars and filmmakers pouring into the city to promote their new films or just to make the scene.

Take a look at this partial list of those who graced Toronto with their presence during the 2010 Festival, listed in no particular order:

Olivia Newton-John, Ben Affleck, Chris Cooper, Rebecca Hall, Geoffrey Rush, Colin Firth, Robert Redford, Robin Wright, Kevin Kline, James Franco, Danny Boyle, Paul Giamatti, Rosamund Pike, Mini Driver, Hilary Swank, Sam Rockwell, Juliette Lewis, Tony Goldwyn, Carey Mulligan.

François Ozon, Catherine Deneuve, Keanu Reeves, Vera Farmiga, James Caan, Natalie Portman, Barbara Hershey, Winona Ryder, Nicole Kidman, Ed Harris, Amy Madigan.

Sara Silverman, Bruce Springstein, Mike Leigh, Kevin Spacey, Melissa Leo, Rachel Weisz, Helen Mirren, Clive Owen, Josh Brolin, Will Ferrell, Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Sam Worthington, Vincent Cassel, Julian Schnabel, Uma Thurman, Darren Aronofsky.

There were others too. But see what I mean?
