This is the 18th year that John Maimone has been the principal DJ of the New York Swing Dance Society, which has events at which those who like to cut a rug to swing gather to have fun. There's also the opportunity to take dance lessons. The idea is to dance to big band music, and the durability of the Society indicates that it is meeting a social need and entertainment desires of a steady crowd. Maimone's interest in music dates to his days at Bound Brook High School in New Jersey, and he's been following the beat ever since.
