Tribeca will be enlivened by a presentation of "Shades of Harlem," the Cotton Club musical that has been performed world-wide, for eight performances November 19-24. It was to have opened in October, 2001, but the 9/11 tragedy resulted in a postponement. The show, which features The Harlem Renaissance Ladies, a group of oldsters who were former showgirls who performed in Harlem nightclubs and revues as well as on Broadway, will be at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center on the campus of the Borough of Manhattan Community College, 199 Chambers Street.
