An unusual, very creative black and white film from Spain, “Blancanieves” is due to open in March, 2013. Directed and written by Pablo Berger and distributed by the Cohen Media Group, it is also a silent film that is a highly imaginative riff on the Snow White story. The camera work is dazzling, as is the acting by Maribel Verdu, Angela Molina, Macarena Garcia and Sofia Oria. The movie starts as a story about a great bullfighter, moves into drama about his daughter carrying on the tradition and also involves a traveling company of bullfighting dwarfs.
