Noted director Brian De Palma is planning a new film that ventures into the famous Boston stranger case. Its title, "The Boston Stranglers," a plural designation, reflects the conflicts that have existed over who the criminal really was. In the early 1960s a series of women were strangled, and the man who originally claimed to have perpetrated the killings recanted and subsequently was himself murdered in prison. “The Boston Stranglers” will be based on a book by Susan Kelly.
